Use Potion
Use Potion: With Darkglare or during AoE
Use Racial Active Buff: With Darkglare or during AoE
Use Trinkets: For single target we want to align possible trinket buffs with Darkglare because that is when we will have the most Unstable Afflictions out
Right after summoning Darkglare. This is when you will have max duration on all your DoTs for a huge Deathbolt.
After your first Darkglare summon and then on cooldown unless the fight you are doing has a specific burn phase. If there is AoE, save it for AoE.
Get all your dots up and use all your soul shards, then summon your Darkglare for max damage
If Darkglare will be ready in less than the duration of one Unstable Affliction (8 seconds), dump all your shards if your other DoTs will last until you are done dumping them.
Refresh Agony in the 30% refresh window as long as the target won't die before it runs out
Refresh Corruption in the 30% refresh window as long as the target won't die before it runs out and the target isn't embedded with a Seed of Corruption.
Refresh Siphon Life in the 30% refresh window as long as the target won't die before it runs out
If the Cascading Calamity buff is down, put a second Unstable Affliction on the target to gain the buff. Save shards instead if Darkglare will be ready in the next 30 seconds.
If you don't have 5 Unstable Affliction (UA) up on the target, generally use a shard to keep one UA up on the target as much as possible. If Darkglare will be ready in the next 30 seconds, save up Soul Shards and only use this if you get to 4 shards. If the fight will end soon, use all your Soul Shards.
Generally use Deathbolt on cooldown once you have refreshed Dots. You can delay Deathbolt to use right after Summon Darkglare if Darkglare will be ready soon.
Save for 2+ targets if it won't cool down again in time
If you are moving, refresh your Agonies regardless

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this Guide useful?
We use algorithms to parse big data chunks from Top 1% Raiders using various public World of Warcraft sources such as the official Blizzard API and WarcraftLogs. We believe that statistics is a very reliable method for determining solid choices for end-game optimization.
Why do you show different recommendations for each boss?
There is usually a slight divergence in optimal choices for each given boss, so we decided to cover that in our guides. However, we also provide you with the 'All Stars' option which is the summary of most popular choices for all bosses together, in case you want the 'set it and forget it' approach (even though in some cases you might end up sacrificing a bit of your performance).
